GREEN illumination saves money and the environment!

    These kits

  • are brighter than fluorescents
  • use less energy
  • offer 10x the life at 100,000 hour rating
  • and contain no hazardous or harmful materials like the mercury in fluorescent.

  • Solectric™ LED Lighting Systems offer a wide variety of high efficiency LED light fixtures for both residential & commercial use.

LED Retrofit Kits for Fluorescent Lighting Fixtures

The Solectric™ Eco-Strip LED is perfect for commercial applications. It is available in either 4 foot or 2 foot strips which makes it ideal for florescent tube lighting retrofits. In addition, it can be configured into custom LED lights such as these low-bay fixtures. They save on power up to 88% over conventional lighting.

Applications for Solectric™ LED Lights

Office Environment

Virtually every office or high rise office building in the United States uses energy efficient fluorescent lighting. They are typically rectangular fixtures called “2x4”, “T-Bar Fixtures”, or “Lay-In Fixtures”. “Save Green with LED” can retrofit all of these. Our system consumes up to 75% less power than fluorescent and last 10x longer so it will reduce your energy cost and maintenance bills. It also eliminates the need to constantly handle the disposal of hazardous fluorescent bulbs.

Parking Garages or School Campuses

There are constant news stories of crime in parking garages or college campuses where there were low light levels due to fluorescent bulbs that were broken or no longer working. Our kit quickly and easily retrofits any of these fixtures and has the unique benefit over fluorescent in that the “bulbs” cannot break like glass. Plus the lifetime is 10X longer so you will have fewer maintenance calls and will be less likely to be facing a legal situation due to “improper” or “unsafe” light levels.

Grocery or Convenience Store

Fluorescent lighting consumes more power when in a freezer or cooler than when it is at room temperature. National chains have been looking for ways to replace fluorescent by using LED systems. Systems that perform to the level of fluorescent are cost prohibitive and require an extensive install process. Our retrofit kits outperform fluorescent in both light output and operating life.

Advantages

An LED (Light-Emitting Diode) is a semiconductor light source. Here are some of the advantages.

Efficiency: LEDs emit more light per watt than incandescent light bulbs. Up to 88% more efficient than incandescent light bulbs. Their efficiency is not affected by shape and size, unlike fluorescent light bulbs or tubes.

Color: LEDs can emit light of an intended color without using any color filters as traditional lighting methods need. This is more efficient and can lower initial costs.

Size: LEDs can be very small (smaller than 2 mm). They are easily populated onto printed circuit boards.

On/Off time: LEDs light up very quickly. A typical red indicator LED will achieve full brightness in under a microsecond. LEDs used in communications devices can have even faster response times.

Cycling: LEDs are ideal for uses subject to frequent on-off cycling, unlike fluorescent lamps that fail faster when cycled often, or HID lamps that require a long time before restarting.

Dimming: LEDs can very easily be dimmed either by pulse-width modulation or lowering the forward current.

Cool Light: In contrast to most light sources, LEDs radiate very little heat in the form of IR that can cause damage to sensitive objects or fabrics. Wasted energy is dispersed as heat through the base of the LED.

Slow failure: LEDs mostly fail by dimming over time, rather than the abrupt failure of incandescent bulbs.

Lifetime: LEDs can have a relatively long useful life. Ours have 80,000 hours of useful life, though time to complete failure may be longer. Fluorescent tubes typically are rated at about 10,000 to 15,000 hours, depending partly on the conditions of use, and incandescent light bulbs at 1,000–2,000 hours.

Shock resistance: LEDs, being solid state components, are difficult to damage with external shock, unlike fluorescent and incandescent bulbs which are fragile.

Focus: The solid package of the LED can be designed to focus its light. Incandescent and fluorescent sources often require an external reflector to collect light and direct it in a usable manner.

Mercury-Free: LED lights are environmentally friendly and mercury-free, unlike florescent bulbs.

Other Great Benefits

Doesn’t Attack Insects

LEDs lights use “Cool light” technology and emit no harmful UV or IR rays. This also means insects are not attracted to LED lights.

Lightstrike

LED Lights are ideal for wineries in that LED lights to not produce harmful ultraviolet light. “Lightstrike” is the term winemakers use when wine has had excessive exposure to ultraviolet light which leads to wine spoilage, giving the wine odd flavors and aromas. Florescent lights produce ultraviolet light which make LED lights the preferred light source for wineries, and for proper wine storage.

LED Light Tube Theft

Unlike LED tubes, the Solectric™ Eco-Strips LED Lights are fastened directly to the light fixture chassis with sheet metal screws making them harder to steal. By replacing inexpensive fluorescent lamps with expensive drop-in LED tubes, many LED tubes have become the target of theft. Because they are easy to remove, have no unique identifiers, and they can work with any ballast, drop-in tubes are an attractive “aftermarket” commodity.
